Sandy Hill Community Church

Building Christs Kingdom

Talent Nite

One of the fun ways that Sandy Hill comes together as a church family is our annual Talent Nite.  Every year, on a Sunday evening in March, Sandy Hill showcases the various talents that God has given us.  The show is not a contest or competition.  /files/Dale's Folder/Image Folder/_MG_0899_filtered.jpgThe event's purpose is to enjoy the gifts of the church and give glory to God.  People of every age sign up to offer music, drama, juggling, comedy, and many other artistic expressions, while the rest of the congregation cheers them on.  The performances come as solos, duets, and even large groups.  In fact, last year, the High School Youth Group performed a hilarious skit that ended in a huge Techno-Dance version of the Scotish National Anthem. (Yeh...it was loopy!)

The evening starts with a dinner in which the entire congregation and guests of the performers are invited to hang out together before the show.  Then, everyone /files/Dale's Folder/Image Folder/_MG_0930_filtered.jpgheads up to the Sanctuary.  Pastor Dave K. "MC's" the show (with his normal brand of bad jokes and random anecdotes) and introduces each performer. Each performer leaves the platform to a rousing round of applause and encouragement.  In all, it really turns out to be a fun event in the life of Sandy Hill Community Church.  We look forward to seeing it continue and grow.  Maybe you'll be the next talented person to grace the Sanctuary platform with your presence.
